Self Care, Why You Should Care

One of our Crisis Specialist here, Jordan Adams, on self-care:

During these crazy times with Covid-19, working from home, wearing masks, and not being able to see loved ones, self-care may fall to the waist side. But it is especially crucial to remember to take care of ourselves during all of this. I like to think of self-care as regular maintenance rather than damage control; meaning it would be ideal to have a regular self-care routine that we can do as often as we can, not just when things are really hard. Self-care is a very individual activity, maybe you like to take bubble baths, or paint your nails, or go on a run. Whatever it may be, find those activities that bring you peace and joy and center yourself and take time out of your day to breathe. If you do have a good self-care routine, I would love to know what it is, maybe it can spur ideas for others. It may take a little while to get into the routine but you have to start somewhere, even if it's once or twice a month. So take time for yourself today, step outside and breathe in the (slightly) cooler air and give yourself some grace.

I have attached a couple of links that I think are great resources for self-care!
